RU Travel Card- FAQs

  1. What is the RU Travel Card?
    The RU Travel Card is an individual liability VISA credit card. Individual liability means the cardholder is 100% liable for all charges made to the card and the subsequent payment of those charges.

  2. What are the advantages of the RU Travel Card?
    It has been developed to provide university business travelers with an alternate method of payment for business travel expenses. The RU Travel Card will enable travelers to separate business from personal expenses and allow university travelers to track business travel expenses through one source.

  3. Who can obtain an RU Travel Card?
    Rutgers full-time employees (faculty/staff) with the approval of their dean or director may apply for a

    RU Travel Card. Cards will not be issued to:
    Part-time or temporary employees
    Employees on extended personal leave of absence
    Independent service providers and consultants
    Student employees
    Visiting faculty

  4. How do I obtain the applications?
    Applications can be obtained by visiting http://www.rutravel.rutgers.edu/rutravelcard.html.
